Where do you find the information?

A:
There are three main ways that the HLD team acquire information for the database. The first method is manual research – we simply compile all of the information that we find through the use of resources like telephone directories, search engines and company’s websites, into one directory.
The second way we find information is through the work of our kind–hearted volunteers. There appear to be a great number of ways that our volunteers find out information, but due to the anonymous nature of our submission form it is impossible for us to ask every one individually!
The third way is through ‘feeds’ from other websites such as ??charity phone numbers??. These websites have directories that they keep up–to–date themselves, and have kindly allowed us to include their data in our database. If you have a directory that you would like to see included in our database, please contact us.

How do I get involved?

My company’s information is included in your database and I would like you to remove it.

A:
Helpline Directory’s very raison d’être is to provide all of the telephone contact information and advice that the public might need in their everyday dealings with businesses, Government agencies or NGOs. As such, it is highly unlikely that we will remove any information from our database – unless it is incorrect or spurious. If you wish to alert us to any incorrect data, please flag it using the appropriate controls on the relevant page. If you wish to supply a preferred/additional telephone number, please submission form, although please bear in mind that this will merely submit the information for review by the Helpline Directory team and there is no guarantee that the information will be amended if we believe the existing information to be more relevant. If you wish to discuss this policy further, please contact us.
